All agencies work on strategy, and a “strategist” is anyone who can present new ideas to clients… Right? At Poudre Noire, we believe that a real strategist must fully know and understand their client’s business model, environment, and stakeholders, as well as the weaknesses of their competitors. They must also be able to anticipate the needs of their client’s customers. A true strategist will gather all the data needed to create recommendations based on verifiable fact, while using their creativity to bring design-thinking ideas to the table with the help of their creative and media-placement teams.

We’re looking to fill this position with someone who thinks like a strategist and has experience in communication. Even if you’re not familiar with the tools and methodology listed below and still think you have what it takes—please apply! The rest can be learned.

Your responsibilities :

  • Conduct internal audits
  • Lead brainstorming sessions with clients
  • Oversee qualitative and quantitative research
  • Provide the creative team with the tools needed to follow a strategic vision
  • Take part in the design-thinking process with the strategic team
  • Manage a selection of key client accounts
  • Develop digital communication plans
  • Coach and train new agency strategists
  • Write up case studies and white papers on critical subjects that deal with strategy and related concepts

We’re looking for someone with :

  • A deep understanding of the digital world
  • Knowledge of basic strategy tools (SWOT, 5 Forces, growth-share matrix, etc.)
  • Full comprehension of the Business Model Canvas
  • Familiarity with double-loop learning (an asset)
  • Familiarity with the Value Proposition Canvas (an asset)
  • Familiarity with the Design Thinking process (an asset)
  • Experience leading brainstorming sessions (an asset)

Requirements :

  • A Master’s (M.Sc or M.Admin) in marketing, communication, and/or strategy
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness
  • Leadership skills
  • Critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to analyze data
